BAES, a Blockchain Lab leader in its field in Spain since 2017
BAES (Blockchain Applied to Public Administrations and Enterprises) is a Blockchain Lab of the University of Alicante.
BAES is a multidisciplinary group of researchers, lawyers, economists and computer and industrial engineers from different universities and companies, formed in 2017 and led by Dr. Carmen Pastor Sempere, Professor of Commercial Law at the University of Alicante.
The objective of BAES is the development of Blockchain technology in the field of public administrations and private enterprises through research, training and knowledge transfer.
The results achieved by BAES include conferences, research papers, expert reports, collective works, knowledge transfer contracts and research projects awarded on a competitive basis. Current projects include LegalCripto and BlockchainFUE.
LegalCripto | Research group centered on crypto-assets
LegalCripto focuses on understanding and analysing the legal framework and implications of Blockchain technology in the monetary, economic and social order.
LegalCripto analyses European legislation on crypto assets (MiCA), identities and privacy (eIDAS2, GDPR), operational resilience (DORA), means of payment (PSD3) and money laundering (TFR), the financing of terrorism (AMLD 6) and the digital euro, among other issues of crucial importance for the future of Europe. An interdisciplinary perspective and other legal frameworks from countries belonging to the Asian and American continents contribute to achieving this goal.

BlockchainFUE | Research group centered on Blockchain
The first cooperative to offer a public Blockchain technology network, powered and designed by BAES at the University of Alicante.
With a cooperative, resilient, sustainable, decentralised and open vision, BlockchainFUE offers scalable solutions through public-private collaboration to foster the adoption of Blockchain technology in public administrations and private enterprises, as well as knowledge transfer, training and certification of competences in this technology.
